MEd, MLearningInnovation, BEd, BA

I’m a registered qualified Queensland primary and secondary school teacher. I have two master’s degrees as well as a bachelor’s degree.

The master’s degrees were majoring in learning disabilities such as ASD, dyslexia and reading and writing difficulties, along with learning innovation. This focused on educational theory and enhancing educational practice.

My bachelor’s degree was in the area of early childhood education from Prep to Year 3. The combination of this academic learning and practical experience has made me a specialist in effective learning difficulties tutoring. This enables more to deliver focused Iessons that are specific to the required learning needs of studente.

I hold a current blue card.

  • 2009 to 2013: I taught in Primary and Secondary schools in Brisbane as a relief teacher in both private and public schools. I have extensive experience in teaching across all year levels.

Experience – Tutoring

  • 2011-Present: I commenced private tutoring for individuals with learning difficulties.
  • This experience includes working with:
    • autism spectrum disorder across high and low-level support needs;
    • dyslexia, which often includes phonological and/or processing difficulties;
    • high school students with varying levels of learning difficulties. (For some I provide targeted lessons focused on their specific strengths and weaknesses. For others with lesser difficulties, this involves assistance with assignment writing and developing research skills.); and
    • working with adult learners with learning difficulties, including individuals with anxiety and communication issues that have impacted upon their learning.

Early intervention is crucial to success with children and I am experienced in tutoring and helping young children struggling with reading and writing – from moderate to more severe learning difficulties often due to developmental disabilities such as ASD.
