Justin Clark

MEd, MLearningInnovation, BEd, BA

I am a registered qualified Queensland primary and secondary school teacher. I have two Masters degrees as well as a bachelors degree. The Masters degrees were majoring in learning disability such as ASD, dyslexia and reading and writing difficulties, along with learning innovation. This focussed on educational theory along with enhancing educational practice.

My bachelor degree was in the area of early childhood education from prep to Year 3. The combination of this academic learning and practical experience has made me a specialist in effective learning difficulties tutoring. This enables more to deliver focussed Iessons which are specific to the required learning needs.

I also have a blue card.

  • Masters in Education specialising in Learning Disability and Reading and Writing Difficulties, Queensland University of Technology (QUT), 2010
  • Masters of Learning Innovation, Queensland University of Technology (QUT), 2010
  • Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) (QUT), 2003
  • Bachelor of Arts Psychology & Theology (ACU), 1999

Experience – School System

  • From 2003 to 2008 I was an Early Childhood teacher before pursuing my Masters Degrees. I have been a teacher in prep classrooms and also regular primary classrooms up to Year 6.
  • From 2009 to 2013 I taught in both Primary and Secondary schools in Brisbane as a relief teacher in both private and public schools. I have extensive experience in teaching across all year levels.

Experience – Tutoring

  • In 2011 I commenced private tutoring for individuals with learning difficulties such as dyslexia and ASD – autism including aspergers.
  • Early intervention is crucial to success with young children and I am experienced in tutoring and helping young children struggling with reading and writing – from moderate to more severe learning difficulties often due to developmental disabilities such as ASD.
  • I am also experienced in tutoring children with the learning difficulty of dyslexia which often includes phonological and/or processing difficulties.
  • I have also tutored high school students with varying levels of learning difficulties. For some I provide targeted lessons focussed on their specific strengths and weaknesses. For others with lesser difficulties this involves assisting them with assignment writing along with developing research skills.
  • I am also experienced in working with adult learners with learning difficulties including individuals with anxiety and communication issues that have impacted upon their learning.
  • You can also read some information about me, my motivations, tutoring style and type of support I provide.
